TUIfly History
TUIfly was created when the Hapag-Lloyd Flug and Hapag-Lloyd Express airlines merged under the TUIfly brand. The company now sells the majority of its flights under the Air Berlin banner, with the company creating its main focus airport at Cologne Bonn. The airline had in the past focused its efforts on building a number of routes throughout Europe, with it now looking to expand into areas such as the United Arab Emirates.
TUIfly Airports and Destinations
TUIfly offers a mixture of international and domestic flights with its fleet of around 30 aircraft, the airline focuses on destinations in Greece, Portugal and Malta where holiday are offered as part of a package and sold through the airline. The airline also offers a number of charter flights that only operate during the peak holiday seasons to areas like the United Arab Emirates and Israel.
TUIfly Services
The airline does operate as a low-cost airline but also offers its services for passengers looking for a high-quality service with a variety of in-flight entertainment offered on the majority of routes. On each flight within Germany and around Europe TUIfly offers free cold snacks and soft drinks for all passengers, longer flights do see the free distribution of hot meals, soft drinks and hot drinks for passengers classed as travelling on long haul flights.
TUIfly Ticket Types
TUIfly offers its passengers the chance to choose between an economy and advanced economy section of the aircraft, with in-flight entertainment offered via overhead screens located throughout the aircraft. Luggage fees are applicable after a specific weight limit has been reached, although the company does allow passengers to use a return ticket on partner airlines.
